I have been a bit quiet on the blogging front but in honor of my first follower, (thanks Ms. Lavelle!) I will try and be more diligent!
What's new at Golden State, you ask?
This kelp pressing sold about as fast as I could hang it. Now I keeping looking at that wall, missing it. Guess I better get busy and frame up another.
Tiles! Tiles! Tiles!
Robin, the very talented and hardworking woman behind Silver Canyon Tile Company, has been keeping me well stocked with these beauties. They are flying out the door as fast as she can fire them. If you have any special requests or orders just let me know. We happily ship. I particularly love the versatility of the four inchers. They are easy to hang and provide a perfect pop of color. And in case you didn't know, she is the only person making reproductions LOCALLY.
I finally finished another blossom ring and sold it just after I snapped this picture. This is a design I have been working on for some time. It is inspired by a blossoming tree in the gorgeous Casino Theater mural by John Gabriel Beckman.
Here it is on...

Sweet Summertime...
Ahhhh.... Summer on Santa Catalina! The harbor is full, the streets are bustling and the scent of jasmine and waffle cones fills the air. I tried to mix up some summery shades to kick off the season. What do you think?
